Termi fans here, and by all means I'm not one to say anything bad about
Termi's, in fact I was sporting a full Termi system on my 01 996, but call
me cynical, I just couldn't get myself to shell out the almost $3K for the
full system, nor did I want to jump on the Termi slip-on bandwagon. For me
it's kind of a been there, done that, kind of thing...
The G&G's are definitely different, and that's exactly what I was looking
for. Even though aftermarket, they still retain a somewhat "OEM like"
appearance. It's that unique subtlety, if you can call it that, that really
attracted me to them. Some will argue the tips resemble something out of a
Batman or Star Trek movie, but in person, they actually compliment the rear
quite well. While other systems have a more blunt end, the G&G's extended
tips help give the 1098 a more aerodynamic, finished look. Hard to see in
pictures (they really don't do the system nor the bike justice), but
definitely an improvement in my eyes...
In compassion to the OEM cans, it's clear to see (feel) that the G&G's are
significantly lighter. How much lighter exactly, I'm not sure as I didn't
weigh them, but you can easily feel the difference. The build quality, welds,
rivets, and seems are top-notch. No ripples, no jagged edges, no pin points.
Hand made in Italy, but with German assembly line like robot precision. Both
cans slipped into place with ease, and lined right up with no problems.
Included hardware is all stainless steel, and everything you need to get the
cans on is included...
The sound that emanates out of these slip-on's is quite impressive! It's
bold, it's hard hitting and its LOUD! They feature a 100% straight through
design with no chambers, which is why they're so damn loud. You can throw in
the baffles to reduce the DB's if you had to, but I prefer them loud and
obnoxious. There's also a notable difference in power delivery. The bike
feels much more responsive throughout the entire RPM band. Low to mid end
power seems to be up, but I won't know for sure till I get her on the dyno...
Even with pricey over seas shipping, the G&G's were still hundreds less than
most other slip-ons on the market for the 1098 right now. With the $$$
savings, I plan on getting a power commander later on this month, and then
have her tuned by my good friend John over at Dyno Sultions in Danbury, CT (
All in all, for the $$$, I'm very happy with the G&G slip on's. The guys
over at eMoto (where I purchased them from), were quite accommodating and
did a wonderful job in making certain I was updated regularly on the systems
ETA. Oh and in case anyone is wondering, aside the waiting period for the
system itself to arive (manufacturing time) from G&G to eMoto, shipping from
the UK to the US took ONLY 4 DAYS! On many occasions I've waited twice as
long for shipments coming from the west to the east coast...
I have posted a small 1min long video clip of the G&G's on my bike. I know
it'll never be anything like hearing them in person, but I think you'll be
able to get a good feel for what they sound and look like on the bike...
