Ducati 749 Dark - G&G black inox

So I’ve started putting extra bits on my 749. First of all I managed to get hold of a carbon exhaust shield that looks much better than the ugly standard one. Then came the carbon seat cowl which looks awesome! Then the serious business of looking for exhausts began. Now I know that a lot of people will say that only Termis should ever go on a Duke, but getting hold of them for a 749 is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. On top of this, I then found out that you need to get a Termi system with an ECU that has never been installed on a bike because it gets permanently coded to that bike. So, with that in mind, I started looking at alternatives.

After finding some pretty ugly cans out there that will go on the 749, I stumbled on a set of G&G cans. ‘Who are they?’, I hear you ask. Well, until about 4 weeks ago, I didn’t have a clue either. G&G appear to be an Italian company that make all sorts of aftermarket cans. These have the advantage of having removable baffles and run very smoothly with the standard ECU.

I had to wait for 14 days for the cans to be made and shipped to me, but it was worth the wait. The bike had a belts service recently and I had the cans fitted then with the bike set up for them. Not only do they look amazing but they sound fantastic. As a slight aside, I have had both my Dukes looked after by Geoff and John and Baines Racing at Silverstone. I really cannot say enough about those guys when it come to looking after the Italian marque.

The big lesson learned for me is: Don’t always go for the obvious choice. Have a look at the pics and make your own mind up.
